Making plans for
Rio de Janeiro

We know it's a long journey for many of you

(and we'll be flying in from Portugal ourselves),
so we want to provide as much information as we can right away.

Officially, we expect to have a welcome event in the afternoon/evening of Friday, November 6. (Think beach and sunset vibes.)

Unofficially, we're also hoping to plan an event on Thursday, November 5 for early arrivals.

(Think boat ride.)

Wedding on Saturday, November 7.

Farewell event late morning Sunday, November 8.

We'd love for you to join us at all of it, but we understand if that's not possible.

If you can only make it to one event,
we highly recommend the one on Saturday ;)

Hotels and
Accommodations

If it's your first time in "the marvelous city," just know that the Cariocas (people from Rio) have a saying: "Rio is not for beginners."

The best place for first-time visitors is the south zone known as Zona Sul. It's typically safer, more expensive, and closer to the beach.

Get in touch with us if you want personal recommendations on where to stay, or just to double-check with us before you book.

Leme

01

Our home neighborhood in Rio, tucked away at the end of the Copacabana beach, though not as big or busy.

Windsor Leme, Hilton, Arena, Novotel

Leblon

04

The ritziest neighborhood in Rio. Most expensive, nicest restaurants, bougiest vibes.

Copacabana

03

The most touristy place in Rio, minus the Christ statue. More affordable, always buzzing. Probably the worst beach of the four options. (Lol.)

Ipanema

02

Middle ground, can be pricey, but overall iconic Rio.  Our favorite beach, with incredible sunsets.
